Champagne

A customer came into our Miners Den Sydney store and presented us with a bottle of champagne.

Naturally we were impressed. It looked quite old and we imagined it was a rare vintage until she confessed that she found it with her Minelab X-TERRA 305.

It wasn’t her first find nor will it be her last but it’s certainly up there with the most unusual and once chilled, it was perfect.

Thanks Amanda. We really admire your detecting skills.

10 grams of Gold in 2 Hours!

Here is a great little story from Cory at our BrisbaneGold Store:

My mate Bruce heard a tale of a 4oz piece coming from an area on Glendon’s property many years ago.

I would think many many detectors have been over it since but the area has no detector holes and was full of screaming targets.

Bruce dug a number of shotgun pellets and bits of wire and then out popped a nugget of 1.2 grams. And so it went for the next 2 hrs for a total of 10 grams with the biggest being just over 5 grams.

There are still many big targets left to uncover and he has invited me to help him work the area on the weekend.

He was using a Minelab GPX 5000 metal detector with a Rooster Booster and a 14″ Coiltek mono coil.

50.7 gram Gold Nugget Find!

We just had a customer bring in a fantastic 50.7 gram nugget that he found. Read his story below about this great find.

“Wandering across a hillside in the Golden Triangle last Friday (and just ready to return home without any gold) I investigated a screaming signal, expecting it to be a sizeable piece of junk.

Three inches under the surface appeared a 50.7 gram nugget – my best find for some time on the Victorian goldfields.

A few years ago this slope produced a few small pieces, including a 4 grammer, but nothing substantial. I plan to work this hillside VERY carefully on the next cool day!”

What a fantastic Find! Congratulations to the finder!

100 Gold Nuggets Found!

Here is a great story a BendigoGold customer recently shared with us –

I pulled up at an old spot of mine not far out of Bendigo. Picked a few pieces up over the years in this spot.

Walked down from the car, at about 20m from the car I picked up a resonable signal.

I dug down to the bed rock and saw a yellow line of gold.

All up in the next 3 hours I pulled up 25 grams out of the old river bed.

In total there was over 100 pieces.

Fantastic BendigoGold Customer Gold Finds!

A local prospector and BendigoGold customer called into the store to show us some great gold nugget finds he had found in a spot at the base of a hill.

He was propecting with his partner and they were using a Minelab GPX 4000 and a Minelab Extreme metal detector. The GPX 4000 was using an 11DD coil and the Extreme had a 14″ Mono coil.

In total 13 nuggets were found within about 150 metres of each other at the base of a slope weighing a total of 26.2 grams.

The largest nugget was 5.5 grams found in hard ground aproximately 1 foot down.

Great Finds!

Since it’s release in 2010, the GPX 5000 has been recognised globally as the ultimate detector for gold prospecting and, whilst we are heavily focused on research and development into new technologies, the GPX 5000 will continue to be the company’s flagship product for some time yet.

177oz Gold Nugget Discovered near Ballarat with a Minelab GPX 5000

Read below to discover more about the monster 177oz gold nugget discovered near Ballarat.
• The 177oz Gold Nugget was unearthed by a Minelab GPX 5000 metal detector
• The gentleman cleared 4″ (10cm) of mulch from the surface and still had a good signal from his detector
• He proceeded to dig down, and after the signal becoming clearer and a definite target he went back to his ute and got a crow bar and widened the hole out
• As he was looking in the bottom of the hole he saw a glint of gold and was thrilled he was going to dig a piece that was over 1oz.
• He’d only found small pieces of gold prior to this target
• Further careful digging and he realised he was onto the find of a lifetime
• The coil used on the Minelab GPX 5000 metal detector was a Nugget Finder Sadie 8″ x 6″ Monoloop Coil and part of his success was certainly created by Australia’s leading booster – The Rooster Booster
• Congratulations to the lucky finder who is now sitting on gold valued at $280,000+

BrisbaneGold customer finds 13g with a Minelab GPX 5000

A customer came into our BrisbaneGold store to show us his great gold finds from a trip to  Tibooburra.

Using his Minelab GPX 5000 and an 11″ Commander Mono coil he managed to find just over 13 grams of gold.

Most of the small pieces were found in shallow ground and the small rough piece is what lead him to the 7gram slug that was about 8″ deep.

He would have liked to stay out there longer but with temps over 40 degrees even the fridge had problems working.
